What our visitors say…
We enjoyed a short family break at Stokoe Cottage. The cottage is very warm, cosy and well equipped with everything you could need. The kitchen is particularly well equipped if you want to cook. Also, the cottage was spotlessly clean. We had the coal fire going every evening which was very relaxing. The cottage is very nicely furnished and decorated. Good base for the north pennines area with plenty of walks in the vicinity and very convenient for a number of drives out.
This cottage is gorgeous, finished really well and spotlessly clean. Living room in on the middle floor, but we spent most of our stay around the dining room table on the bottom floor. Good location for walking and a lovely village as a base.
What a beautiful place to spend the week! Perfectly located for peace and quiet, yet very handy for visiting Durham and Penrith.
Husband played golf one day, while I went out walking with the boys. The small town felt more like a village and is lovely, We felt very welcome as visitors. And the Turk’s Head pub is just next door!
The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you need for a home from home stay.
The cottage is very well kitted out, it’s like we never left home. Nice and quiet little town and a welcomed change to the daily London life. Wifi did not fail us at all. Apart from the 6 foot heads getting woken up properly once or twice, this quaint beautiful cottage served us well for the week holiday. We went up to Hadrian’s Wall near Carlisle and also went around Carlisle Castle. Lovely stay, highly recommended for walking and relaxing.
